Guwahati: A wave of protests has erupted in South Sribhumi after allegations of serious discrepancies were discovered in the draft voter list for the Shree Bhumi Panchayat. Led by MLA Siddique Ahmed, nearly a hundred residents gathered at the dharna shed, voicing their anger and demanding action over the irregularities.Ahmed later submitted a formal memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, claiming that around 50,000 names—his own included—had been unjustly removed from the voter list.
