Guwahati: A new dialysis centre has been launched at Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital as part of the Prime Minister’s National Dialysis Programme, marking a significant advancement in healthcare services for the region. The state-of-the-art centre, featuring four dialysis units, will be able to treat up to 12 patients per day, offering services completely free of charge.The inauguration ceremony, presided over by Assam Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gora Brahma, emphasized the rising demand for kidney care. Brahma noted that before this facility was established, residents with kidney-related issues had to travel long distances for dialysis treatment, which was both costly and burdensome. “Now, with the new dialysis centre in Kokrajhar, patients will be able to receive essential care without the added strain of traveling,” he said.The new centre is set to provide significant relief to local families, allowing patients from Kokrajhar and surrounding areas to access critical dialysis treatment more conveniently and affordably.
