In a swift operation, South Salmara-Mankachar Police apprehended 16 illegal Bangladeshi nationals traveling from Bengaluru, who were later repatriated across the border after confirming their nationality.
Guwahati: In a successful operation, the South Salmara-Mankachar Police in Assam intercepted 16 illegal Bangladeshi nationals who had traveled from Bengaluru to Guwahati by train. Among the detainees were seven men, four women, and five children. Their suspicious movement towards the South Salmara-Mankachar district prompted authorities to investigate further. The group had been hiding at a local residence.
Upon questioning, it was confirmed that the individuals were Bangladeshi nationals. The detainees have been identified as Zakir Sk, Md Mehdi Hasan, Rumana Aktar, Md Rizwan Hawaldar, Jamal Sk, Beauty Begum, Munni Begum, Nushrat Zahan, Rustom Sk, Rubel Qureshi, Chand Mia, and five children. Following the investigation, they are being repatriated to Bangladesh as per the necessary procedures.
This operation underscores the proactive efforts of the South Salmara-Mankachar Police in tackling illegal border crossings and unauthorized movements.
