A body of a youth was recovered from inside a room at Beltola in Guwahati under mysterious circumstances today.
The deceased has been identified as Rupjyoti Sarma, a resident of Shanti Gram Housing Complex in the Jayanagar area of Guwahati.
According to sources, the body was discovered in his friend’s renting room in Beltola.
According to his family, the room was locked from the outside when his body was discovered.

Meanwhile, Basistha Police arrested the room’s owner, Rahul Ali, in connection with the case and launched an investigation.
Police said Rupjyoti died due to a drug overdose, but the specific cause of death will be determined after a post-mortem examination.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
