Maharashtra man throws toddler daughter into pond after arguing with his wife

In a horrific incident in Maharashtra’s Jalna, a man allegedly killed his toddler daughter after an argument with his wife.

After an argument with his wife, the 30-year-old farm labourer allegedly threw his daughter into a farm pond.

They were residents of Jalna’s Nidhina village.

The accused man has been identified as Jagannath Dhakne. He was arrested following a police investigation.

Dhakne and his wife are residents of Aurangabad district and came to Jalna to work on a farm.

Dhakne and his wife had a heated argument on Wednesday morning, according to police, after which he took their daughter and threw her into the pond without his wife’s knowledge.

According to the police, after a while, when the mother realised her toddler was missing, she began searching everywhere for her.
The accused had also joined the search, and Dhakne’s wife had later approached police.

They filed a kidnapping report, and the police immediately launched an investigation.

The police during the probe questioned Dhakne but his statements were not consistent and hence, on further grilling, he confessed to his crime.
He was immediately arrested and charged of murder.

During the investigation, the police questioned Dhakne, but his statements were inconsistent, so he confessed to his crime after further questioning.

He was arrested and charged with murder right away.
