Guwahati: At least, three persons were arrested for allegedly gang-raping a school girl in Assam’s Goalpara district.
The incident occurred on Saturday at Agia village of the district, when the minor girl was returning from school.
The three culprits conducted the horrible act in a jungle near the village, sources said.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family members the trio was arrested, sources added.
A case under the POCSO Act was also registered against them.
Earlier also, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by six men over a course of two days in Assam’s Nagaon district.
