A one-year-old child has gone missing after a country-made canoe capsized on the Lali River in Assam’s Dhemaji district, an official reported on Tuesday.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team and the Dhemaji District Fire Services team conducted the search and rescue operation.
It may be mentioned that a country-made boat carrying seven people, including two children, overturned on the Lali River not far from the Kangkan Chapori district of the Jonai Subdivision on Monday.
Following the tragedy, villagers saved six individuals, but a one-year-old child is still missing.
A member of the SDRF crew stated, “Others were saved after the boat capsized incident, but a one-year-old child is still missing.
The occurrence took place yesterday.
According to the locals, the country-built boat was heading from Kangkan Chapori to the Lomba Chapori region.
