Madhya Pradesh: 2 RPF personnel killed after being hit by train

In Morena, Madhya Pradesh, two members of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) were killed when they were struck by a speeding train.

The staff members were both head constables.

According to reports, the incident happened on Tuesday night at the Sank Railway Station.

They were on duty and on their way across the tracks to check the stopped passenger train between Gwalior and Agra.

However, the Duronto Express that was approaching from the opposite side hit them as they were making their way to the stopped train.

The deceased RPF personnel have been identified as Ashok Kumar, 56, and Navraj Singh (40).

Even though they were on the tracks at a station, they were unable to escape the fast approaching train.

Before any medical assistance could be given, both personnel died on the spot.

An investigation into the matter is underway.
