Shillong:Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Guwahati this morning on a visit to several northeastern states. He then went to Meghalaya. Prime Minister Modi addressed a gathering in Meghalaya on Sunday and assured india of hosting events like the FIFA World Cup. “I can say for sure that we will be hosting an event like the FIFA World Cup in India,” he said. The official Twitter account of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tweeted the same.
Prime Minister Modi today launched various development projects in Meghalaya. “It is coincidental that when the football World Cup final is held, I am addressing football fans at the football ground,” Modi added. Meghalaya is a leading state in football. Modi said that the world’s largest football tournament is now being held and we have started development work from a football ground.
