Lashkar militant behind attack on Army in Kashmir? NIA probe: Opposition slams

New Delhi: Five soldiers were martyred in a militant attack in Kashmir’s Poonch on Thursday, police said. A day has passed since the incident, but the search for the militants is still going on. According to sources, the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba is behind the attack. Army officials believe that the sabotage was carried out through the grenade attack. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey spoke to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in this regard. Opposition parties in the country have already strongly condemned the incident.


A fire broke out in an army truck on Thursday. Later, the Army said that the area was functional amid heavy rains. It was blurry. On this occasion, the militants threw a grenade at the army truck. That’s why the truck caught fire. Investigations later revealed that the militants may have fired at the jawans before throwing grenades. Then grenades were thrown at the truck.
The NIA is expected to probe the case. According to initial reports, at least seven Lashkar militants were hiding in the dense forest. As soon as the army truck arrived, they attacked. However, no one has been caught yet. Five soldiers were killed in the attack. Four of them are from Punjab and one from Odisha. One soldier was seriously injured.
