The RBI governor on Monday said there was “enough” time to exchange rs 2,000 notes. He added that even after the expiry of the note exchange deadline on September 30, rs 2,000 notes will not become invalid. People will get some more time for this. He added that a specific time frame for exchanging the notes has been set so that people are in a hurry to exchange such notes. He, however, did not comment on when the deadline for exchanging notes could be extended again.
