Kolkata: Sucheta Bhattacharya, daughter of former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, wants to change her gender to become known as ‘Suchetan’. For this, the presidency college alumnus has started seeking legal advice and has also contacted a psychologist for certification.
Suchetna, 41, said her decision had the full support of her father Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, but her family identity was not a big deal in this case. He’s doing it as part of the LGBTQ+ movement. As a transman, she wants to stop the social harassment she faces every day.
