New Delhi: The Kedarnath Dham Yatra has been stopped due to bad weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted very heavy rainfall at isolated places over uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh. As a result, kedarnath yatra is not safe for pilgrims. There may also be a risk for the lives of passengers due to bad weather. Therefore, the Kedarnath Dham Yatra has been ordered to be stopped.
Roads in Uttarakhand’s Sonprayag and Gaurikund areas were closed on Wednesday due to incessant heavy rains. The decision has been taken by the state administration keeping in mind the safety of the pilgrims. According to the administration, the water level of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers has increased significantly due to continuous heavy rains.
The collapse has made it difficult to travel on four state highways as well as 10 other roads. There have also been problems with traffic. Heavy rains lash Uttarakhand on Wednesday also.
