New Delhi: Manipur is in the grip of caste riots. This time, the paramilitary Assam Rifles is facing public wrath. They were removed from their duties at checkpoints, mainly due to protests by women in May.
An advisory in this regard was issued by the ADGP of Manipur on Monday afternoon. Nine Assam Rifles personnel have been removed from sensitive checkpoints in Bishnupur-Kangboi area and police and CRPF have been deployed, it said.
