African Union gets G-20 permanent membership with India’s initiative

New Delhi: The African Union has been granted permanent membership of the G-20 by India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement from the stage of the Mega Conference on Saturday.


African Union President Azali Asumani was also present at the event. Modi invited him to the G-20 alliance. “With the consent of all, the African Union has been made a permanent member of the G-20 alliance. Union President Azali Asumani is being urged to take his seat in the coalition. The African Union has more than 50 member states. Modi’s initiative is believed to be aimed at ensuring that Africa, along with other countries, dominates the world stage.
