Maoists blow up railway tracks in Jharkhand, train services on Howrah-Mumbai section disrupted

New Delhi: Maoists had called for a nationwide Bharat Bandh on Friday. There was no response that way. So, out of desperation, the Naxalites again chose the path of sabotage. Maoists blow up railway track in Jharkhand’s Chakradharpur Due to this, train services on the Howrah-Mumbai section have been disrupted.

According to sources, the Maoists blew up a portion of the railway track between Goilkera and Posaita stations of Chakradharpur branch late on Thursday night. The area was cordoned off with Maoist posters. The 18030 Shalimar-Kurla Up Express was scheduled to pass through that line a short time later. But before that, the matter was noticed by the driver and guard of the goods train passing the side line. They alerted Goilkera and Posaita station masters.
