Maoists blow up railway tracks in Jharkhand, train services on Howrah-Mumbai section disrupted

New Delhi: Maoists had called for a nationwide Bharat Bandh on Friday. There was no response that way. So, out of desperation, the Naxalites again chose the path of sabotage. According to sources, the Maoists blew up a portion of the railway track between Goilkera and Posaita stations of Chakradharpur branch late on Thursday night. The area was cordoned off with Maoist posters. The 18030 Shalimar-Kurla Up Express was scheduled to pass through that line a short time later. But before that, the matter was noticed by the driver and guard of the goods train passing the side line. They alerted Goilkera and Posaita station masters.
