New Delhi: India’s cheetahs are going to get a new home after Kuno (Kuno National Park). A few days ago, two cheetahs gave birth to seven cubs together. After that, it was reported that the government plans to bring more cheetahs to India. That is why alternative accommodation will be arranged after Kuno. According to sources, a special team will come from South Africa to inspect the new accommodation arrangements.
It is learnt that alternative accommodation for cheetahs will be provided in Madhya Pradesh itself. Cheetahs can be kept in the Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary, spread over an area of 368 sq km. There is another 2,500 square kilometers around the sanctuary. Overall, forest department officials consider this place ideal for cheetahs to breed. There is already a lot of activity in the area. A South African delegation will visit Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary next month. After that, the issue of bringing more cheetahs to India will be discussed.
