Kolkata-bound bus falls off a bridge in Odisha, at least 5 dead,Another 30 were seriously injured.

Kolkata:At least five people were killed in a road accident in Odisha on Monday night. Another 30 were seriously injured. Some of them are in critical condition. It is not yet clear whether any of them are from Bengal. Initially, it is believed that the driver lost control of the accident.

The accident took place around 9 pm on Monday. According to preliminary information, the bus fell off the Baravati bridge on National Highway 6 in Odisha’s Jaipur district. The bus was carrying around 50 passengers from Cuttack to Kolkata. On receiving the news of the accident, the local police reached the spot and started the rescue operation. Five of them have died. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. The injured are also undergoing treatment.
