Maoist killed BJP leader in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi: Security forces killed 29 Maoists in a joint operation in Chhattisgarh. Within hours, a BJP leader was killed in his ‘retaliation’ attack. The operation was conducted jointly by the BSF and the District Reserve Force (DRF) on Tuesday afternoon. The Maoists were killed. At around 11 pm, Naxals barged into his house in Narayanpur in Bastar region and killed a BJP leader.


Top Maoist leader Sankara Rao was among the 29 Maoists killed in the joint operation. This Shankar was the top Maoist commander in Kankar district. The bounty on his head was Rs 25 lakh. Several top Maoist leaders have also been killed. A huge cache of ammunition and an AK-47 was recovered from the spot. The expedition was conducted mainly in the forests of Kankar district of Chhattisgarh. Success comes from joint operations.
