CM Himanta Biswa Sharma has announced the Million Moina Scheme for students in the state

Guwahati:The Assam Legislative Assembly today chaired a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma. After the Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister briefed the press on the decisions taken by the Cabinet. The Chief Minister mentioned the Chief Minister’s Million Moina Scheme. The Chief Minister said that Rs 1,000 per month will be paid to girl students enrolled in Class XI till they complete their higher secondary courses excluding two months of summer vacation. The money will be paid to the bank account on the 11th of each month.The government will pay Rs 1,250 per month to those girl students enrolled in three-year or four-year degree courses.

Those enrolled in post-graduate courses will receive Rs 2,500 per month. The Chief Minister added that only either the Scooter Provision Scheme and the Million Moina Scheme can be available. The scheme will not cover the children of ministers, MLAs and MPs and girl students of private institutions. The girl students of venture educational institutions also can apply for this scheme.Applications for the scheme will be filled up from July and awareness meetings will be held on the scheme. This year, girl students who get 60 per cent marks will also get scooters. 50,000 girl students will receive scooters. The girl students will receive funds under the Moina Million Scheme from October .There will be special rules for filling up the scheme form. Parents are required to sign the form. Girl students from all BPL-APL families will get this facility.The forms will be distributed in the educational institutions in July. Girl students will receive the scheme for the remaining 10 months except June-July. The government has set a target of Rs 300 crore for the scheme. The scheme will run for five years. The funds of the scheme will increase to Rs 1,500 crore in five years. The Chief Minister said the Cabinet today approved Rs 800 crore for construction of 800 tea garden line roads. Rs 1 crore will be spent on each garden. The government is constructing 126 schools every year. So far, 252 schools are under reconstruction. Another 126 have been approved today. The Chief Minister also said that the pass rate of girl students has increased due to the provision of scooters.The scheme will be implemented with the aim of preventing child marriage. The scheme is designed to enable girls to stand on their own feet. If you have difficulty in obtaining this form in any educational institution, you can apply through the Million Moina portal also . The scheme is available in any bank account, not in any specific bank account. Referring to NEET, the Chief Minister said that economically backward students trained under the responsibility of the State Youth Commission have achieved success in NEET. 153 out of 220 students trained in collaboration with Allen in Dibrugarh have passed. CSRL has also started a training center in Tezpur. Such centres will also be launched in Nalbari , Shillong and Jorhat. The training centers will be set up at five locations in Assam. There are 600 students studying in such centers in Dibrugarh and 106 in Tezpur.
