New Delhi: Kejriwal’s bail application was rejected again. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday afternoon rejected the bail of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested on liquor policy charges. The High Court argued that the lower court – the Rose Avenue court in Delhi – “did not exercise its discretion” when granting bail and that the verdict was wrong. The ED had arrested the AAP leader in March in connection with the liquor policy case.

Kejriwal was granted bail by the Rouse Avenue court but the Delhi High Court ordered an interim stay on his release. The High Court reserved its judgment and today ruled on bail. The Supreme Court yesterday heard a petition filed by Arvind Kejriwal’s counsel challenging the stay order issued by the Delhi High Court on his bail. The Supreme Court termed the stay order issued by the Delhi High Court as “abnormal” during the hearing.
