235 crore was allocated, only Rs. 1.5 crore spent! Sculptor of collapsed Shivaji statue arrested in Maharashtra

Mumbai: The statue of Shivaji collapsed at Rajkot Fort in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district on August 26.After that incident, allegations of irregularities and corruption were raised in the construction of the statue. Maharashtra police arrested the sculptor of the 35-foot-tall statue. The statue was made by sculptor Jaideep Apte’s company. They undertook the task despite the company having no previous experience in this field.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the statue of Shivaji. The statue collapsed on August 26 at 1 pm.Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Congress claimed to have allocated Rs 236 crore for the statue. However, the Congress claims that only Rs1. 50 crore has been spent in reality. The Congress also questions where did the rest of the money go?
