New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by former principal of RG Kar Medical College Hospital Sandeep Ghosh. Sandeep had approached the Supreme Court against the CBI’s order to probe the RG Kar Hospital corruption case. However, the Chief Justice’s bench rejected his plea.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the state government had initially launched an investigation against Sandeep in the RG Kar Hospital corruption case. However, the Calcutta High Court later ordered a CBI probe into the financial corruption cases as well as the rape and murder cases. The Calcutta High Court said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would examine whether there was any connection between the financial misappropriation cases and the rape and murder cases.
