A man was arrested in Odisha’s Jaipur after allegedly threatening to kill MLA Nityananda Sahoo over the phone.
Nityananda Sahoo is the sitting MLA from Basta in the Balasore district.
As per reports, Sahoo received a call from an unknown number on his mobile phone on Tuesday while he was threatened to be killed by the caller.
Following this Sahoo informed the police.
Meanwhile, based on the complaint, the cyber cell started investigating the matter.

The inquiry led the police to a person named Sk Mujamil, who was arrested in the Mangalpur area.
On further inquiry, Mujamil was found to be a habitual offender.
Sahoo is not the first MLA, Mujamil threatened to kill, earlier he had done the same with another MLA as well.
As per the police, the primary motive of the act was to extort the legislator.
Further investigation into the matter is on.
