Morbi Bridge Collapse: PM Modi Visits incident Site

Following the death of at least 135 persons due to the cable suspension bridge in Gujrat’s Morbi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the incident site today.

 Search and rescue operation is in progress in the Machchhu River.

At least 135 people, including women and children, were killed and over 100 are receiving treatment for their injuries sustained after a cable suspension bridge in Morbi town collapsed on Sunday.

In order to assess the situation in Morbi, PM Modi presided over a high-level meeting on Monday at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

The rescue and relief efforts that have been going on since the horrific incident in Morbi were explained to the prime minister.

According to a PMO announcement, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of making sure individuals affected receive all the assistance they need.
