Guwahati: Unidentified dead body recovered in Basistha

Guwahati: An unidentified dead body has been recovered at Basistha in Guwahati on Thursday.

The incident took place in lane number 13 at Kinara-kata in the area.

According to sources, the locals suspect that the deceased was murdered by some miscreants and left the body there.

A variety of items were found close to the body, sources added. In addition, it has come to light that the dead person was a driver by profession.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, police arrived at the scene after receiving the information and recovered the body for post-mortem.

Police have started an investigation into the incident.
