New Delhi: Several courts in the country have said that maternity leave falls under fundamental rights. Ignoring it is against human rights. Keeping this in mind, the Sikkim Government has taken a historic decision. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Wednesday announced that women employees of the state government will get 12 months of maternity leave from now on. Male employees will also get one month of paternity leave.
