Kejriwal will have to stay in jail if he does not get interim bail

New Delhi: Finally, Arvind Kejriwal has not been granted bail even today. The Supreme Court on Tuesday began hearing delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s interim bail plea in the Delhi liquor policy case but stayed it instead of delivering any verdict on the hearing. The top court said that if Kejriwal is granted interim bail, he will not be able to perform any official duties as chief minister.

After this, Arvind Kejriwal told the Supreme Court that he was willing to submit an undertaking that he would not sign any government file if he is released on interim bail. In another development, a Delhi court today extended the judicial custody of Arvind Kejriwal till May 20.A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Dutta said kejriwal’s performance of the chief minister’s official functions while on interim bail could have a huge impact.
