Bad sign: Ice in Antarctica has dropped significantly

New Delhi:The European Union’s climate monitoring service on Tuesday noted that sea ice in Antarctica has dropped significantly in February for the second year in a row. According to statistics provided to AFP by the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), on February 16, the sea level around the continent of Antarctica was covered with ice.

Such a change has also been detected in satellite imagery.C3S Deputy Director Samantha Burgess said, “In the 45-year satellite data record, Antarctic sea ice has reached its lowest level. “
