New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday on the motion of thanks to the President’s address. Modi in his speech was seen criticising the previous Congress government. Modi claimed that the Congress party was now trying to create a “north-south divide”.

Modi hit back at Congress Rajya Sabha leader Mallikarjun Kharge for his ‘400-plus’ speech, saying there are doubts about whether the Congress will win 40 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee had mentioned a few days ago that the Congress would not be able to win even 40 seats. Prime Minister Modi echoed Mamata’s tone that the Congress is not expected to win even 40 seats.
