Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
New Delhi: Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He will take up the responsibility for three years from Wednesday, an official statement said. Malhotra is a 1990 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Rajasthan cadre.He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur followed by a Master of Public Policy degree from Princeton University in the United States. Malhotra, who worked in the departments of Finance and Taxation, Information Technology and Mines, was appointed Revenue Secretary. He was previously Secretary of the Department of Financial Services.
