Guwahati:On December 10, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha conducted an on-site inspection of key venues in Agartala in preparation for the 72nd Plenary Session of the North East Council (NEC), scheduled for December 21. This marks the first time that Tripura will host the prestigious event.Union Home Minister and NEC Chairman Amit Shah is set to arrive in the state on December 20 to attend the session. During his inspection, CM Saha visited the Ujjayanta Palace and Pragya Bhavan, two primary locations for the event, where he reviewed the ongoing preparations and issued necessary instructions to officials.Speaking to the press, CM Saha expressed pride in Tripura’s role as the host of the event, highlighting the special arrangements being made, particularly the grand function at Ujjayanta Palace. He confirmed that alongside Amit Shah, Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with several Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and Governors from the Northeast will be present. The discussions are expected to center on regional development and ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects, with a special meeting of the North Eastern-Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC) also scheduled.“This is a moment of great pride for Tripura,” said Dr. Saha, “as the discussions will play a crucial role in driving further development in the Northeast.”In addition to the session preparations, CM Saha shared details of a recent meeting with Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his son, Anant Ambani, during an event in Maharashtra. Saha invited the Ambanis to visit Tripura, and both expressed strong interest in exploring business opportunities, with a team from Reliance expected to visit soon.
