The Assam government has decided to increase the daily duty wage for both newly trained and basic home guards.
The Assam government’s Home Department increased the daily duty allowances to Rs 767 (from the previous rate of Rs 300 per day per head for basic trained home guards and Rs 315 per day per head for advanced trained home guards) on the Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s orders, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
Home guards have long demanded an increase in the daily duty allowance.
The enhanced duty allowance rate will be in effect starting today, according to the Home & Political Department’s announcement, number. HMB 150/2015/299.
According to the announcement, today’s decision will help as many as 24,000 home guards jawans, with each one receiving a monthly salary of about Rs 23,010.
