Washington:The child went to the doctors with severe pain in the stomach. His stomach problem could not be diagnosed at first. Rather, it is alleged that other diseases are treated. It was decided to do an ultrasonography to reduce the abdominal pain. The doctors were surprised to see his report.The incident was reported in a medical journal titled ‘Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Report’. The four-year-old’s ultrasonography showed that there were several small round magnets in his stomach. The child swallowed them while playing. From there, the unbearable pain in the stomach begins.According to the report, the child was suffering from stomach pain for two days. I was vomiting again and again, and it was difficult to defecate. His parents took him to the doctor. Doctors initially thought that the child was suffering from appendix disease. They are treated accordingly. But even after going home from the hospital, his stomach pain did not subside. There was constant vomiting.
After this, ultrasonography is done. Doctors found that the small magnets that the child swallowed, they gathered inside the stomach and took the form of a round necklace.
The doctors immediately removed the magnets after surgery. They found 18 magnets inside the stomach. The child has recovered after the surgery. However, referring to this incident, doctors have advised parents to be careful.
