The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted autonomous status to B. Barua College, Guwahati for 10 years
New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted the status of ‘Autonomous’ Institution to the heritage B. Barua College, Guwahati. The approval was given on the recommendation of the Standing Committee of Autonomous Colleges meeting held in June The UGC, affiliated to the University of Guwahati, granted autonomous status to B. Barua College for 10 years from the academic year 2024-25 to 2033-34.
As per the rules, the University of Guwahati issued a notification within 30 days to grant autonomous status to the college. “The college has been given autonomous status as per the UGC Rules, The commission has also clarified that the autonomous college must comply with all the provisions of the UGC regulations for autonomous colleges. The rules are available on the UGC website, www.ugc.gov.in.
