President of India Droupadi Murmu to visit Tripura on October 12 for a two-day visit to the state.
President Murmu is scheduled to land at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport at 11.15 am.
It will be Murmu’s first visit to the state after becoming the President.
During her two-day visit to the state, the President will inaugurate a number of development projects in Tripura, according to officials.
Murmu will flag off the Guwahati to Kolkata express up to Agartala and the extension of the Agartala-Jiribam-Agartala during the visit.
According to them, the Jan Satabdi express up to Khongsang (Manipur) has a new LHB rake and Vistadome coach.
She will also dedicate the trans-shiftment yard which was built at Nischintapur, crossing point of Indo-Bangla railway project to the nation, six km away from the state capital by video link.
At Narsinghgarh in the West Tripura district, the President is scheduled to lay the cornerstone for the Pushbanta Palace Museum and National Law University.
The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) will host a civic reception for Murmu at Town Hall with Chief Minister Manik Saha, Mayor Dipak Majumder, and cabinet ministers in attendance.
The President is likely to meet with dignitaries, public figures, and political leaders.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Agartala and its vicinity ahead of the President’s visit to the state.
