Meth tablets worth Rs 30.84 crore seized in Mizoram’s Aizawl

Under the direction of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), the battalion of the 23 Sector Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the excise and narcotics department, recovered a sizable amount of methamphetamine tablets that were worth more than Rs 30.84 crore on the black market.

The Assam Rifles said in a statement that they had really seized 92,550 tablets worth a total of Rs 30,84,99,691.

The force informed that the items were seized from the general area of Falkland Veng in the Aizawl district.

Based on specific information, a joint team from the Assam Rifles and the Excise & Narcotics Department, Aizawl, conducted the operation.

Based on the information received, a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was launched by a joint team on Monday.

At around 8 o’clock, the team observed the movement of a possible vehicle.

The car was stopped and a comprehensive spot check was done in accordance with the team’s description.

A person was found to be carrying a sizable number of methamphetamine tablets during the inspection.

The entire consignment of Methamphetamine tablets was seized in situ and the individual was taken into custody by the joint team.
