Assam: 2 arrested with heroin worth Rs 4 Cr in Karimganj

In a major drug haul, the Assam Police recovered a huge contraband of heroin in the Karimganj district of the state on Wednesday.

Police also arrested two drug peddlers in connection with the seizure.

The arrested duo have been identified as Jamil Ahmed and Ahmed Hussain hailing from Patharkandi and Moina.

As per reports, the contraband of heroin was seized from an Alto car.

The market value of the seized heroin is approximately Rs 4 crore.

The Alto automobile with the license plate AS10 E 9032 was reportedly traveling to Tripura from Nilambazar in Karimganj when it was stopped at Sonakhira in Patharkandi.

Partha Pratim Das, the additional superintendent of police in Karimganj, oversaw the operation that resulted in the seizure of the 500 grams of heroin.
