New Delhi: In the last few years, there have been several deaths abroad due to medicines made in India (mainly cough syrup). The Centre on Saturday issued strict guidelines to improve the quality of medicines. The government’s expert committee has issued a notification for new production standards for pharmaceutical companies in the new year. That’s how companies have to make medicines.

Since 2022, Indian pharmaceutical companies have been accused of multiple deaths abroad. As a result, India has been discredited in the international market. The Modi government has taken a tough decision to restore the image of the $ 50 billion market. According to the Centre’s guidelines, the manufacturer has to take responsibility for the quality of the product. The combination of safety and functionality is emphasized.
