Guwahati: At least 15 workers were killed and several others missing when a quarry collapsed in Aizawl, Mizoram during devastating storms. The accident occurred in the area on Tuesday morning amid continuous rains.
Police said the incident took place in the area between Meltham and Hliman, on the southern outskirts of Aizawl city, around 6 a.m. Several bodies were recovered while many others were trapped under the rubble, the police official said. Heavy rains have hampered the rescue operation.
