New Delhi: In a major order, the Centre has directed all e-commerce companies to remove Bornvita from the category of ‘health drinks’. The central government has directed that Bornvita should not be included in the ‘Health Drinks’ category on the portals of companies. The question arises, why did the Centre take such a step?
Long ago, there were several complaints about sugar levels in Bornvita. This was followed by an inquiry by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The investigation found that the level of sugar in Bornvita was above the acceptable level of certain criteria. Then the Centre took action.
