Nadda is BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Gujarat, Chavan from Maharashtra

New Delhi: BJP president JP Nadda is the BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Gujarat. The saffron party has fielded former Congress leader Ashok Chavan for the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra. The former Maharashtra chief minister had quit the Congress on Monday. He joined the BJP on Tuesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released its first list of candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections from Gujarat and Maharashtra. BJP national president JP Nadda is contesting from Gujarat. Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Chavan has also been fielded from the state. The ruling party has also released names for the remaining three seats in Modi’s state. They are Govindbhai Dholakia, Mayankbhai Naik and Jaswant Singh Salam Singh Parmar. The BJP has fielded Medha Kulkarni and Ajit Gopachdde for the other two seats in Maharashtra.
