Guwahati Police rescued kidnapped minor, personal driver arrested
Guwahati: Police arrested the personal driver for abducting a 10-year-old girl of his boss and demanding ransom in Guwahati, the official said on Friday.
According to sources, the driver abducted and eloped with the minor girl child while taking her from tuition classes.
After kidnapping the minor, he demanded ransom money in return for her safe release, sources added.
As per the official, the driver demanded an amount of Rs 7 lakhs for her release.
However, the minor girl has been rescued safely by Guwahati police and apprehended the culprit.
“They were found by police at Jorabat, near to the Ganesh Mandir, and the girl child was safely returned”, officially stated.
The accused driver was identified as Sukumar Barman, a resident of Barpeta. He was the driver to the family of Dr. Buddhaditya Bhattacharya in Guwahati.
